Mohs Micrographic surgeryThe Gold Coast’s First Dermatologist to perform Mohs Surgery
Named for its inventor, Dr Frederick Mohs, it was first established in the 1930s but has only been widely practiced since the 1960s, when the process was modernised by Dr Perry Robins of New York. Mohs Micrographic Surgery is considered the gold standard in the treatment of certain skin cancers including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell.
Mohs surgery is designed to help achieve the best cosmetic outcome for patients having cancerous lesions removed. This same-day procedure helps to minimise scarring and ensure all cancerous are removed in one surgical session.
Dr Andrew Freeman is the Gold Coast’s first Dermatologist to be qualified to perform Mohs Micrographic Surgery and does weekly outpatient procedures at Pindarra Private Hospital and Pacific Private Hospital on the Gold Coast. You can watch our Mohs Explainer video by clicking the link below.
Warning: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
Acne Clinic Your dedicated source for Acne support
Access to specialist services can be difficult and when acne is impacting on your self esteem the wait can be distressing. Whilst it can affect anyone of any age, it tends to be more common in teenagers. With school hours from Monday and to Friday, taking students out of class to see their dermatologist can be disruptive. With busy working schedules, leaving work to talk about acne is seemingly impossible. With this in mind, Dr Andrew Freeman has created a specialist acne clinic on a Saturday to service his acne patients who aren’t able to attend during the week.
If you’re suffering with adolescent or adult acne, we’d encourage you to attend his dedicated weekly acne clinic, conveniently scheduled on a Saturday. So don’t delay, make an appointment to see Dr Andrew Freeman at The Skin Centre today.

Hair Loss Addressing all your hair loss concerns
Hair is important to both men and women and the loss of it can be extremely upsetting. Whilst there are some forms of hair loss that are temporary and will recover without treatment, others are progressive and would benefit from treatment sooner rather than later.
Along with skin and nails, dermatologists are experts in hair. The practitioners we support understand how frightening it must be to experience excessive hair shed or to see a receding hair line whilst waiting for an appointment with a doctor. The practitioners consulting from The Skin Centre we have established a specialist hair clinic to deal with such issues as quickly as they can.
