Consult Fees
Effective from 1 February 2026.
- The Dermatologists we support generally charge a standard consultation fee of $350.00.
- Medicare rebates may apply to eligible consultations. Rebate amounts vary depending on the type of consultation and your individual circumstances. Please check with Medicare or our reception staff to determine your eligibility and expected rebate amount.
- For patients without a referral, the full consultation fee of $350.00 is payable on the day of the consultation.
- Any procedures performed during or following your consultation are charged separately and will be quoted prior to treatment.
- A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required at the time of booking.
Deposit Fees
To help reduce wait times and ensure every patient gets the care they need as soon as possible, we require a $50 non-refundable booking deposit for all appointments. This deposit secures your appointment and is deducted from your consultation fee.
With wait times in excess of 6 months for Dermatologist appointments, this deposit ensures that appointment times are respected and available for those who need them most. By reducing cancellations, we can provide timely care to more patients in need.
Appointments can be rescheduled without forfeiting your deposit with 24 hours’ notice. It is a non-refundable deposit, so if you cancel your appointment at any time, the deposit is forfeited.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us provide the best care to everyone in our community.
Private Health Insurance
Please note that private health funds do not provide coverage for outpatient specialist consultations.
You will be responsible for the full consultation fee at the time of your appointment.
Tips for optimising your consultation
- The Dermatologists operating from the practice see many patients each day and run to a fixed schedule, it’s therefore important that you’re on time for your appointment and leave ample time to complete any paperwork or navigate the hospital parking complex. We suggest arriving at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
- The Dermatologists we support recommend that their patients write bullet point notes on their phone about the concern you wish to discuss with your doctor. It’s important to communicate your concerns or issues with your doctor in a clear and easy-to-understand way. This helps your doctor to address the priorities from a medical perspective.
- Some patients have multiple issues and concerns that are practically not possible for their practitioner to address in a single appointment. If you think this may be the case, then we suggest you ask our reception team about an extended appointment with your Dermatologist to suit your needs.
- The Dermatologists we support suggest that their patients make time to do a skin self-assessment in the mirror at home. By familiarising yourself with your skin markings, you can best alert your doctor to any new or changes skin features which may be the first signs of concern.
- Prior to your consultation, we encourage you to check with your referring doctor or our reception team that your referral has been received by our practice. If you have a paper copy, please ensure you bring this along with you on the day.
