Trial on Psoriasis
 
The Skin Centre has been given the opportunity to offer a new
psoriasis inhibitor before general availability. The Injections are
taken for a three month period. There is the
opportunity of proceeding with up
to five years of the therapy if you
are happy with the results. This is the first type of agent that
has
as drugs such as Methotrexate and cyclosporine.
To be eligible, you must fit the following
criteria:
Men and Women aged 18-75
Plaque psoriasis with a severity of disease meeting the
following criteria
PASI Score of 11 or greater.
This means if you have 10% of the body covered
you are most likely eligible.

Trial on Superficial Basal Cell carcinomas
The Skin Centre is looking for volunteers to participate in a
clinical trial to treat Basal cell carcinoma. These trials have
been approved by the Ethics Committee.
The trial takes 3 months, and require 8 visits, as
outlined below. It is essential that you are available for the
planned visits and not planning to be away on holiday.
To be eligible, you must fit the following criteria:
- Must be male or female aged between 18 and 60
- In general good health
- Must be using a reliable form of contraception
- Must not be participating in any other medical trial
currently or within the last thirty days
- Plan to remain on the Gold Coast for the period of the
trial
