Melanoma Identification

PAUL Gale

Progression of the lesion - Melanomas Grow - sometimes very slowly. Watch for change. Body photography can aid in early detection if you have many moles.

Asymmetry - Most normal moles if divided in two are symmetrical in pattern. This applies to the colours within the mole and the edges.

Ugly duckling - the melanoma often stands out as being different. Your wife is almost always right - if she is worried get it checked.

Level - flat melanomas have all the features above but the raised melanomas can be symmetrical.
